close...

Almost done with my final presentation. It is going a lot better than I thought it would. I have worked on it for over six hours but the good thing is it hasn't really seemed like that long.
Its been great getting to follow my classmate's opinions on all the topics we have covered. I think we really have a strong group of future teachers. It's a good thing we aren't having class this week because the weather is horrible. I hope everyone has access to a computer and internet for the next couple days.

Yep, its 2:36A.M....

Sure is, I am stoked though because I am halfway done with my final PowerPoint presentation. Had to go all out this weekend because of plans in the upcoming couple days. I think its going to turn out fairly good though, I hope. Well, at least half of it will. Two things I am realizing right now, one, I don not miss overnight paper writing sessions. And two, those five hour energy drink work pretty good, the commercials were spot on when they advertise that you wont all of the sudden crash. Well, anyways good luck to all, I'm crashing...

JIMMY V.

I watch this video every now and then and just saw it on espn. It gives me the chills every time I watch it. I know that Jimmy V. is a true inspiration to the sports world and I hope more people outside of it will too. He was a great man and a great teacher and his legacy will always live on. He is a great inspiration to me and I hope my fellow teachers and friends will read up on him to find out who he is and what his story is because we all should model how we live our lives around how he lived his.

Break was Great

Last week was just what I needed. I got a long break from school and a couple extra days off of work. Last week was a great chance to visit with my family especially because I haven't seen them a lot since starting school. The last month has just been so hectic and busy for me. I am hoping the next couple weeks go smoothly and I get all my work done. We will see. Work is about to get really crazy, so I'm looking forward to getting no sleep for a bit. But at least I am rested up with left-overs galore to fill my tank.

AHHHHHHHH........

Well, this week went much much better. Having only one class makes school and life manageable that's for sure. This week we had to make our own podcast and I thought it was pretty cool. I didn't realize that podcasts were so easy to make once you figure out how to do it. I am finding that my semi-good knowledge of computers is really helping me in this class. This online class is not like any other one I've taken, basically because it circles around computers. I've taken health classes online but they were way different that's for sure. Well, I'm done typing today. SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!

Man, Last week was hectic...

I can honestly say, I am glad last week is over. I think most of my classmates would say the same thing. Having two classes at once was brutal. I am stoked to only have one class now so all my focus can go towards it. We all had presentations in our other class last week and besides all the stress it caused I thought it was a lot of fun. Last week showed all of us that we have many talented classmates. It's just a great feeling that this week I only have one class. Now, I can stop waiting to do all the classwork in ed. tech. on the weekend...

Using blogs in the classroom

Blogging rules? There's rules to blogging? There are according to the article Don't Feed the Trolls. I'm glad there are some set rules to this stuff. Basically, I'm going to use "I" throughout almost every blog. This blog is my opinion, that's all, it's not scientifically proven...Yet. The most important rule in my opinion though is avoiding name calling and labeling groups. BLOG WITH RESPECT!
Man, I really like the Sargent Park Math Zone blog. It's fairly easy to follow and is displayed great. Using a blog for a class would be so handy. Before looking at this blog or reading Don't Feed the Trolls I would never have even thought about using a blog. All of my students at anytime, anywhere could check out when assignments are due or if anything was assigned on day where they missed class. I think a blog site like Sargent Park would save both me and my students so much time. There is definitely a lot of CHATSPEAK going on here!
